Fab Philly Mom added a new photo — at Pizza B...

In honor of National Pizza day today, I’m sharing one of our family’s favorite...PIZZA BRAIN! I'm not sure if it's... -the awesome memorabilia (Pizza Party, Shari Lewis & Lamb-chop, Ninja Turtles, Mystic Pizza, etc) that takes me right back to my childhood. -the fact that it's BYO (They do also offer free water and sell Virgil’s Old Fashion Soda) -how it’s so cleverly located next to an ice cream shop making for one sinfully delicious night out. -because they have awesome murals with local celebs and Philly legend Izaiah Zager mosaics in a cute courtyard outback. -or that they have really great slices and make your own options including vegan cheese too! ,but....WE ALL LOVE IT HERE! Located deep in the ever evolving Fishtown section of the city is this crazy, quirky, little pizza shop bursting with personality! Pizza Brain is actual a pizza museum!! They hold the Guinness Book World Record for pizza memorabilia, and boy is it a hoot to look over it all! Such throwbacks to movies and games of the 80’s & 90’s you may have forgotten about. Pizza Brain serves up a daily rotating variety of oversized slices with funky fun names. There's always an option to make your own which I what the kiddos and I normally do. My signature self created pie is a "Tom" aka plain topped with blackened Brussels, meaty portobello, fresh basil, Daiya vegan cheese and toasted pine nuts. Oh. So. Good! So, so good! I top it with their house made crushed red pepper, but watch out, this stuff is seriously spicy. "A little dab will do ya", as they say. A fave for hubs and the extended fam is without a doubt their "Forbes Wagonese" which has baby smoked pepperoni they say is so outrageous. Pizza Brain is attached to Little Baby's Ice-cream which is so genius! You can sit over there enjoying your pizza and visa versa. Our favorite place to dine is outback on a warm night however. Don't miss at least a peek back there! Way cool! So Instagram worthy! Little Baby’s is a small batch local ice cream company serving up some outrageous and unique flavors. Dairy-free ones too! Favorites include toasted coconut, everything bagel (yea, you read that right) and speculous!! Other flavors include cucumber dill, chipotle chocolate, smoked cinnamon, black pepper butter pecan, and amazing seasonal and specials. Whether it’s laced with Sriracha, Red Bull or earl gray tea, you will not be disappointed steeping out of your comfort zone here. They do offer samples for the unsure folks. We find their palette is the way to go for sharing with the fam and tasting a variety of fun flavors. Pizza Brain is THEE perfect pizza and ice-cream night out spot with the kiddos who love playing with the make your own pizza video game and looking at the toys hidden in clear boxes in the floor. It’s really quite a trip for all. It's cash only and there’s unmetered street parking! Don’t forget those brews and bottles too! Such a cool spot! It’s an experience. #fabphillymom

Friends Of Hackett added 11 new photos.

Apologies for the delay in posting about this wonderful event, but we've just been sidetracked with Eagles Mania all week! Last Friday, local artist Keith Greiman hosted his 2nd annual Art for Hackett fundraiser at Minnow Lane. It was another fun and successful night, this time with more artists (47 in total) contributing their 4"x4" pieces to the event. Thank you to everyone who braved the cold and made it out! And if you couldn't make it but would still like to purchase a piece, there are about 10 unsold pieces still available until the end of the month at Minnow Lane!! So, go buy yourself a lovely piece of art by a local artist and support your local public school. Win win!!
