Star Party Friday evening April 20, 2018 was awesome. We had two astronomers bring their professional telescopes. We saw the moon’s surface in great detail. We also saw Venus and the Big Dipper. Thank you to astronomers Jerry, Mike and Robbin. To all who attended it was a night to remember. I heard one of our young attendees say he never liked science before until now.

Rodent droppings in kid's classrooms close Philadelphia care centers - Philly
In this Clean Plates edition, there was moldy food, rusty food slicer blades, rodent contaminated cat food bags and a men's restroom without a door. But what was really disgusting was the number of cases of mice and rat droppings that were found in children's classrooms and restrooms. Philadelphia food inspectors temporarily closed 34 facilities between April 1 and April 13.

Justice in School Funding: A Constitutional Imperative
Pennsylvania has the greatest gap between rich and poor school districts in the nation. This disparity is the result of one of the lowest state contributions to education in the country. Tens of thousands of students living in poverty languish in under-resourced schools as a result of inadequate and inequitable school funding.
