Artwork submitted by Karoline Hrouda a senior at The Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush as a graduation requirement on a Civil Action Project. Karoline chose to focus her project on policies regarding littering in State and City Parks to bring awareness to these policies through creating a piece of art displaying one of many harmful effects of littering. She focused her research on Pennypack Park specifically and one of her finished pieces is displayed above as part of her project. Pictured in this piece is a white tail deer draped in litter in order to show how animals can easily become ensnared and tangled in the trash that is left behind. The goal of this piece is to cause feelings of sympathy so that people will realize the harm of their actions and avoid littering in the future.
