18 RUNS IN THE LAST 5 DAYS..... Before we close out 2017 I would just like to commend our 2nd Alarmers who in the past week have put in some long enduring hours in some of the coldest temperatures in many years. Yes this is the holiday week and as you can see from below that fires and our PFD PPD responders do not take a holiday. Our 2nd Alarmers are there to provide any comfort so they can perform their job easier and get back to the station to clean up and get some rest especially after battling a fire or being out in frigid temperatures for any length of time. This is a recap on what we responded to since Christmas to ensure they can work comfortably at emergency scenes.STAY SAFE EVERYONE..... Death of disgraced cardinal reveals a truth we'd rather ignore about the Catholic Church | Opinion

At the height of the 2002 American clerical sex abuse scandal, when I was covering the Vatican for the New York Times, a friend of John Paul’s described him to me as an old man with the innocence of a child — someone who literally found it difficult to believe the accusations.

Death of disgraced cardinal reveals a truth we'd rather ignore about the Catholic Church | Opinion
If leaders in entertainment, politics and media want to make women and men safer in the workplace and change a culture that shrugged off accounts of abuse, they will only be able to look to the Catholic Church for a model of what not to do.
