Dire wolves to mastodons, giant sloths to saber-tooth cats, the mammals that went extinct during the Ice Ages are now the stuff of legend. What were they really like? Join us at Wagner Free Institute for hands-on, Ice Age-themed activities, such as scavenger hunts, extracting ice cores, and using play-dough to simulate glacier movement, and presentations by geochemist and Ice Age researcher John A. Higgins from Princeton University, who will share what it’s like to work and make discoveries in Antarctica. In addition to activities, the museum and lecture hall will be open for exploration—making this is a perfect opportunity to visit the Wagner on a weekend, when we are not usually open! Visitors are welcome at any time throughout the afternoon; registration is encouraged but not required ana can be made through this link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/wagners-winter-wonderland-the-ice-age-tickets-40949431853 This event is free for everyone; for those who would like to make a donation to the Wagner so that we can continue presenting free events, we suggest $10 for adults and $5 for children. #fabphillymom
