SEPTA Key

Tokens will be going away. On Monday, SEPTA will stop selling them at subway stations. Better get ready! http://planphilly.com/articles/2018/01/17/answers-for-all-your-septa-key-questions

Answers for all your SEPTA Key questions
On Monday, SEPTA will stop selling tokens at subway stations, taking a long-awaited leap forward in the neverending game of hopscotch that is the rollout of its new fare payment system, SEPTA Key. The end of station token sales represents a significant first step towards scrapping the fare coins entirely in 2019, a full five years after their original retirement date.

Meet the Asian immigrants running some of Philly best French bakeries

Han’s first business was a grocery store at 54th and Race, which he left to open Paris Baguette. The European influence, he says, comes from his training in South Korea and his European coworkers in the hotel kitchen where he worked.

Meet the Asian immigrants behind some of Philly's favorite French bakeries
Maybe you did a double take when you saw that new storefront in Chinatown: Paris Baguette. But if you went inside, you'd realize that the shop, with its cashiers clad in Breton stripes and gray berets, is quite at home next to the Chinese grocers and hot-pot spots.

What's a Plan?

A city plan uses community input, research, and surveying, to guide how to improve housing, neighborhoods, jobs, shopping options, transportation, and public space.

Plans also identify how to turn the ideas in the plan into action. Once completed, City Planning works with other city departments, partners, and community groups to make the plan happen.

Learn more about the Philadelphia2035 plan and the West District.

What's Next?

The final version of the plan will be presented for adoption at a City Planning Commission meeting. Open to the public!

Once the plan is adopted by the City Planning Commission, our staff will start working on making it happen, in partnership with community organizations, West District residents, fellow City departments, and other partners.
