Artists, photographers, writers, poets, and musicians can all claim the Wissahickon Valley as a muse. So what’s stopping you from joining their ranks and entering the Biennial Wissahickon Photo Contest 2018? This year’s contest is being presented by FOW, the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association, and (for the first year ever) the Woodmere Art Museum. STREET CLEANING IS BACK! Hector Vega started last week cleaning Ridge Avenue (Scotts Lane to Merrick Rd) and Midvale Avenue (Ridge to Conrad). He is also cleaning the parking lot and pedestrian island on Midvale. He works 3 days/week. Please welcome him to East Falls and thank him!

Spring has sprung and the cleaning season has begun! Join us for the 11th Annual Philly Spring Cleanup as we spruce up LaNoce Park. Although not required, volunteer registration is now open at http://www.philadelphiastreets.com/philly-spring-cleanup/. There is a Town Watch training tonight (2/20) at 7pm at the 5th District. The 21st Ward Town Watch is actively looking for members. The overall responsibility of the group is to observe, document, and report. By being the “eyes and ears” and reporting concerns to the 5th District, they take a major part in assisting with crime prevention.
