On The Delaware Music Festival - This Weekend at Pennypack on the Delaware! Saturday, June 30 between 10 AM to 8 PM. Please see the attached link for details. https://riverfrontnorth.org/event/summer-concert-series-sene-festival/
The cleanup for June 23 has been cancelled due to rain. Please come to our July cleanup on July 28 from 10 AM to 1 PM on Torresdale Ave between Enfield St. and Rhawn St. where the road crosses the creek.
Summer is here and that means going down to the shore. And what is a favorite relaxing beach activity? Why, it’s sitting on the beach with a good book. What! You don’t have any good books or you’ve read them all? No worries. This Saturday, June 16 from 9 AM to noon at Lincoln High School, Ryan Ave. parking lot, FOPP will be having our monthly recycling and that includes our FREE book and magazine tables. Yes, I said tableS, because we get a lot of books and need more than one table to hold them all. We love when people take them from us, so now’s your chance! You can also bring your unwanted books and magazines to give them a second life. While you are visiting bring your paper/cardboard and aluminum to recycle with us (please separate the aluminum from the paper). We also take clothing and shoes. Lastly, being June, we collect old and worn flags in honor of Flag Day. Flags will be properly disposed of through a local veteran’s group.
Some photos of wildlife in the park by Ed Reiss. The heron and duck shots were taken at the waterfall off Veree Rd. The chipmunk and squirrel shots were taken at the bird blind off Verree Rd by the environmental center. The nuthatch was at the feeder next to the environmental center.
