92nd ANNUAL solo exhibitions: Julie Anne Greenberg: Considerable Uncertainty Remains Jacob Koestler: Copy of a Copy Daniel W. Coburn: Becoming a Specter are on view through August 4, 2018. I am inspired by ideas of the infinite in relation to sublime subjects like hurricanes and other weather patterns. The patterns allow me to closely examine a subject that is so much larger and powerful than myself. Essentially, the act of printing the same patterns over and over again ties in to my exploration of natural phenomena. As humans, we can try to predict and understand these storms, however we will always fall short due to our own limitations….As I print, cut, and stare, I find myself sitting in the middle of each disturbance, rearranging pieces that no longer fit together. - Julie Anne Greenberg Image: Julie Anne Greenberg, System XV Nicole: “Defied Forecasts by Steadily Organizing”, 2018, Screenprint with paint and pigment on cut and reassembled paper on built panel http://printcenter.org/100/92nd-solo-shows/

What is Photo Pop Philly? Let Me Explain!

Photo Pop Philly (1315 Walnut Street) is Philly’s first pop-up photo/art exhibit. The closest concepts I can think of are Refinery 29’s 29Rooms or Dream Machine in Brooklyn – a fun, colorful, interactive walk-through exhibit with endless opportunities for photo ops.

What is Photo Pop Philly? Let Me Explain!
The way I see it, there are two types of people in the world: people who will absolutely love what I'm about to talk about, and people who will absolutely hate it. You can probably guess which camp this candid-loving, Instagram-obsessed gal falls into (#absolutelylove).

Philly cops say they'll stop parking in the 13th Street bike lane. Again.
On Tuesday, a slew of cars were parked in a Philly bike lane. Not exactly news. But in this case, the vehicles in question were cop cars. The handful of Philadelphia Police vehicles parked on 13th Street between Filbert and Arch earlier this week forced cyclists to weave out into car traffic as they were heading north through Center City.

Ours to Lose, a visual record by Vincent Feldman of abandoned and endangered places in West Philadelphia, is on view at the Slought Foundation, 4017 Walnut Street, until June 5, 2018. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from noon to 5:00PM. Admission is free.

Ours To Lose Captures West Philly Landmarks In Decline
Editor's Note: Vincent Feldman's photographs of neglected Philadelphia are mesmerizing and devastating. His large format prints shimmer with silvery detail. Deep tones of black and white glow with a three-dimensional quality. Feldman's mastery of his medium transfixes the eye, while his desperate, deserted subjects reach out to grab you by the heart.

This project is an extension of my examination of the family photo album. In “Becoming a Specter” I make images in an effort to describe the anxiety and psychological estrangement one experiences during times of political and social unrest. 'Astounding' survey of fly species suggests we might be underestimating global biodiversity | CBC News
