'Whenever it rains, his fire alarm goes off and most of the 1800 block of Broad St. can hear it.'

The irritating mystery of a Philly politician's oft-triggered fire alarm
A Redditor suggests that the fire alarm has activated dozens of times this year at state Sen. Larry Farnese's South Philadelphia office. But officials with the fire department and Farnese's office say the alarm has mysteriously sounded just three times this year.

Philly's at-home concert presenters offer pet-able dogs with the music
You won't find their shows advertised on TV or hyped on radio. A home or Facebook page is about as "public" as Philly concert presenters Ann Mintz, Jamey Reilly and Jim Hamilton like to be in soft-pedaling their musical wares - weekly to monthly concerts with jazz, classical, blues, folk and world fusion, plus a tad of dance and spoken word.

I am looking for 25 brothers that would be willing to take 25 at-risk young males to the 76'ers game from your community.I will provide the tickets, but the young men must be in middle school or high school and they cannot be related to you.The purpose of this is to step outside of our circle and invest in the young men in our community that are on the wrong path. The catch is you must continue to mentor them beyond the game. I would never ask someone to do something that I'm not willing to do, so I am going to select a kid as well. We have to start from somewhere. The game is Wednesday and it's on a first come basis.Men our young brothers need us.Each man must select one kid.
