Last Thursday, we brought in a panel of experts to discuss gun violence in the United States and the policies that have been proposed in the aftermath of recent mass shootings. In the words of The Philadelphia Citizen, "While there’s no one answer to the question, “How do we end gun violence?” the panelists and the audience explored its legal, social and cultural underpinnings, local efforts to curb gun violence, and ways we could move forward on the issue." You can hear an edited recording of their discussion in Episode 24 of Citizen Cast. We'll host another panel discussion on May 18. The topic for In Conversation with the Rosenbach: Flash Focus will be announced in early May! http://thephiladelphiacitizen.org/podcast/#tile24

Podcast: Ideas We Should Steal: Children's Cabinet - The Philadelphia Citizen
Last Wednesday, thousands of students from across Philadelphia and the country joined together for a day of walkouts-an opportunity to honor the 17 lost during the Parkland, Fl., shooting in February and to demand more comprehensive, common sense gun reform and action from policymakers.

The world of Jupiter is coming into clearer focus for scientists, as new data from NASA reveals how the planet's fluids churn and mingle - both on the surface and deep within the interior. All of these chaotic movements are revealing that Jupiter is even more complex than expected.

Today at 12:15 pm EDT, we mark the astronomical start of Spring in the northern hemisphere with the March Equinox, as such today is one of two days each year where there is roughly the same amount of day and night. http://bit.ly/2tLeonR

In northern OH/northwest PA, the maximum daily temperature occurs nearly 3 weeks later in mid July. Just as the warmest part of the day usually occurs several hours after noon, when the sun is highest in the sky, so too does the warmest part of the summer lags the summer solstice.
