Calling all change-makers! Do you have an idea for a project or initiative to create change and make an impact in East Kensington? We are considering applications for our next round of mini-grants! EKNA supports local initiatives through our mini-grants, or awards of up to $500 to support projects benefiting the residents of East Kensington. Past recipients include Kensington Community Food Co-op, Hagert St. Playground, and Rock to the Future. Do you have a great idea for East Kensington? Submit your application to secretary@ekna.org by January 30th! Please include your budget, desired amount of funding, and the impact a mini-grant will have on the EKNA community. Officers had stopped a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe in the 2800 block of Kensington Avenue after seeing it traveling in the wrong direction nearby on Hart Lane shortly before 11 p.m.

    Philadelphia Police said an officer shot a passenger during a traffic stop Saturday night in Kensington after the man pulled a gun from his waistband. Police provided the following account: Officers had stopped a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe in the 2800 block of Kensington Avenue after seeing it traveling in the wrong direction nearby on Hart Lane shortly before 11 p.m.

    A highway patrol officer shot a man in the Kensington section of Philadelphia after police say he tried to take an officer's gun. It began around 10:45 p.m. Saturday on Hart Lane in Kensington. Police say they saw a 2013 Hyundai Sante Fe traveling in the wrong direction.
