Good Thursday morning NWS Mount Holly followe...

Good Thursday morning NWS Mount Holly followers and visitors to NJ, DE, E parts of PA and MD. WIND...that's going to be the featured weather later today, Sunday and possibly Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. So, its rained just about everywhere early this morning and quits around daybreak. Then its a rather nice midday with temps I-95 corridor eastward to the coasts, within a couple of degrees of 60. A brief early afternoon shower along and north of I-95..heralds the arrival of gusty cooling northwest winds - 25 to 35 MPH - lasting well into tonight. The next event is a period of warm showery rains Saturday night with amounts in the 0.1 to 0.5 inch range and temps believe it or not, in the 50s just before midnight Saturday night for the I-95 corridor eastward. Strong westerly cooling winds arrive by daybreak Sunday, gusts near 45 mph at times during Sunday morning. Definitely stronger than what we'll experience late today. Thanksgiving...seasonable and probably dry (a Day 8 forecast ---always subject to change).

FROM THE DRCC: We are excited to invite you to an event we are holding on Saturday November 18th at 11am, celebrating DRCC’s announcement of the final design for the NEW Riverfront Park in Bridesburg. The event will take place at the site of the future park (Delaware Ave at the intersection of Orthodox Street). The 10-acre park will be designed by Langan mostly for passive use with a focus on ecological restoration. The design project is being funded by the William Penn Foundation and the City of Philadelphia, and will be managed by the City of Philadelphia in partnership with the Delaware River City Corporation. The trailhead park will connect directly with the existing Port Richmond Trail and Delaware Avenue Extension to the south, and in the future, will connect to the existing Kensington & Tacony Trail to the north. We are proud to welcome the following speakers at the event to help us celebrate this milestone accomplishment: Robert A. Borski – Chairman of the Board, DRCC Bobby Henon – Councilman, Philadelphia's 6th District Kathryn Ott Lovell – Commissioner, Philadelphia Parks and Recreation Shawn McCaney - Executive Director, William Penn Foundation Joseph Slabinski – President, Bridesburg Community Development Corp. John Taylor – Pennsylvania State Representative Mike Driscoll – Pennsylvania State Representative The event is rain or shine.

This event is FREE and will have healthcare enrollment experts on hand to help visitors sign up for healthcare through the ACA’s online marketplace and through Medicare. As you know, healthcare costs continue to rise for most of us while there have been efforts in Washington and elsewhere to make it harder for regular people to get affordable care. The deadline for ACA enrollment is December 15, which is 6 weeks earlier than last year.

Good Wednesday morning NWS Mount Holly FB fri...

Good Wednesday morning NWS Mount Holly FB friends and visitors to NJ, DE, E parts of both PA and MD. A relatively boring (for some of us) seasonably cold pattern is expected for the next week or two. That bodes well for most of us. Rain and fog occurs late tonight. Showers again on Saturday night. Otherwise, we just expect breezy conditions Thursday afternoon and again Sunday. Thanksgiving: Just a little too early to say. What about November as a whole? November should average below normal, maybe on the order of 1-3 degrees below, which contrasts with November a year ago which averaged 1-3 degrees above normal. The pattern as modeled by USA, Canadian and European models indicates frequent reloading of a cold trough in the northeast United States through the end of the month.
