GW Childs Elementary School instruments will be part of this wonderful project organized by Temple Contemporary happening this weekend in Philadelphia. We know that the creative arts are an essential part of public school education, and we're lucky to have a great music teacher in Mr. Taber working at GW Childs. He's currently raising funds to purhase some new guitars for his students. Please look in the comments below for a link to help make this happen! https://www.npr.org/sections/deceptivecadence/2017/11/30/567064772/the-healing-sound-of-a-broken-orchestra

Philadelphia's Symphony For a Broken Orchestra
In a cheerful rehearsal room at Temple University, a few dozen professional musicians inspect the instruments that they'll be playing to debut an audacious piece of music by a Pulitzer Prize-winning composer. The composition is called "Symphony For a Broken Orchestra" and, fittingly, these instruments are all broken.

#givingtuesday As we move closer to Christmas...

#givingtuesday As we move closer to Christmas on this giving Tuesday, we're going to share some very powerful stories of some of the people that we have touched over the years. I would like to introduce you to Mr.Rob. Over seven years ago, someone emailed into us and let us know that Mr.Rob had cancer and that he was raising his kids by himself. Mr.Rob would volunteer at a shelter not too far from his home on a daily basis. During this time, Mr.Rob was having a tough time financially and was unable to provide Christmas for his children. Well, on Christmas Eve we decided to visit Mr.Rob and his family at their home. When Mr.Rob opened his door tears flowed down his face because we surprised him with gifts, food baskets and much more for his family.I am happy to report that the cancer is gone. If you're thinking about supporting an organization for "Giving Tuesday", please think about Unity in the Community.
