Calling all bakers! It's time for the Annual East Falls Candlelight Carol Sing! The Carol Sing will take place on Wednesday, December 13th, 7PM (music begins at 6:45), in McMichael Park. A baked goods and hot cider reception will follow at the Falls Presbyterian Church. Please bring your baked goods to the church any time on the day of the Carol Sing. A table will be set up right inside the Vaux Street doors starting at 7AM. If you can help by bringing baked goods to the Carol Sing, please e-mail me or call (215-849-7864) Thank you! Faith McDowell, Friends of Falls of Schuylkill Library firstname.lastname@example.org

Testimony in support of the temporary Demolition Moratorium on Ridge Avenue - Bill 17082
Favorite beers to take the pain out of reindeer/pedestrian collisions over the holidays.
For the 4th Christmas in a row, we’re going door-to-door caroling with the neighborhood. This year we’re spreading maximum cheer with a musical mystery guest who’s the holiday’s biggest fan.

On Tuesday 12/5/17, The Committee on Rules of City Council will hold a Public Hearing at 10:00 AM in City Hall, Room 400, to hear testimony on Bill 17082. This is the much anticipated Ordinance to establish a temporary Demolition Moratorium (entitled 'Historical Preservation') with respect to properties in the area of Ridge Ave. between Wissahickon Creek and Northwestern Ave. Written testimony from the 21st Ward RCO's (Registered Community Organizations) will be entered into the record and we expect two representatives from our groups will be permitted to speak. HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT! All you have to do is attend! We want to fill the seats! Your attendance will speak volumes to City officials. Councilman Jones has walked along The Ridge with RCO representatives and understands our concerns. We are most grateful to him and his staff for drafting this ordinance. See you there!

The Annual Thanksgiving Feast was amazing. Smiles all around! We have so much to be thankful for.
Possibly our favorite news of all year: a friend in our condo complex won almost $75k on Wheel of Fortune this October!
Hopefully this guy is from the neighborhood. Anyone recognize him? https://www.facebook.com/lwddaycare/posts/848587035301157
'Twas the night before the Thanksgiving Feast when all through the halls, the teachers were busy preparing a feast in East Falls. The places were set at the tables with care in hopes that some goodies soon would be there. The children were nestled all snug in their beds; while visions of turkeys danced in their heads. 🦃❤️ The tables endlessly line the halls at Mifflin tonight! Ms.Yarnall and the teachers will be cooking all evening. The deserving students of Mifflin will eat like kings and queens tomorrow. We're giving thanks for these wonderful teachers, staff, and volunteers!
Mifflin has their own Share Basket! It's this sort of innovation and thoughtfulness that makes us love our neighborhood public school. http://www.scarymommy.com/school-share-tables/
JUST SAY NO to more thoughtless demolition of our architectural history. At tonight's meeting, we'll review the city's process for historic designation, and learn grass-roots tactics towards preserving our past: http://www.eastfallslocal.com/take-another-little-piece-of-our-past/
