POLICE OFFICER OF THE MONTH November, 2017 P/O Randy Vogt #7115 P/O Alfred Fiorentino #4688 On Monday, October 30 at approximately 12:39 P.M., the manager of the Dunkin Donuts located at 1619 Grant Avenue was working behind the cash register when he observed a white male enter the store and sit at a table. A few moments later after all the other patrons had left the store, the male approached the complainant and demanded money. The male had his hand in his pocket as if he was in possession of a gun as he spoke to the complainant. The complainant refused to open the register. The complainant struck the male with a mop and the male fled the store without taking anything. The incident was recorded on the store’s surveillance video system. The male was unique in his appearance being that he was wearing a purple hooded West Chester University sweatshirt and had huge gauges in his ear lobes. Officers Vogt and Fiorentino came into work the following day, October 31, and went to the Dunkin Donuts to view the video of the incident, hoping to recognize the male from previous contacts. The next day, November 1, at about 1:45 P.M. the officers were exiting the parking lot of the 7th District when they observed the male they believed was the same male who had robbed the Dunkin Donuts several days earlier. This male was white, wearing a West Chester University sweatshirt and had gauges in his ears. After the officers detained the male, they had the complainant come to their location where he positively identified the suspect as the male who had robbed the Dunkin Donuts on October 31. The male was arrested and transported to Northeast Detectives where he confessed to the robbery. As a result of this arrest, a dangerous felon who was preying on the business community was removed from the streets. The defendant was charged with Robbery, Theft, RSP, Simple Assault and Terroristic Threats. http://7thpdac.com/police_officer_of_the_month
