Old City fire update: Chestnut Street is reopen between Second and Third

Use this new web app to find out if your Philly property taxes will go down
The amount of property tax you owe could actually be lower next year. Philly's Office of Open Data and Digital Transformation has been slowly and surely upgrading the city's web presence, turning a formerly clunky site into one that's mobile friendly and doesn't slow browsers to a crawl.

Philly artists resurrected a Rube Goldberg-like instrument that mimics an entire orchestra

Old City fire update: Chestnut Street is reopen between Second and Third

Philly artists resurrected a Rube Goldberg-like instrument that mimics an entire orchestra
The word "orchestra" summons the idea of something formal and elegant: orderly rows of tuxedoed and gowned musicians coaxing heartrendingly beautiful sounds from gleaming brass and shimmering strings, all under the commanding baton of a regal conductor. That image is a far cry from Mauricio Kagel's Zwei Mann Orchester (that's "Two-Man Orchestra" for the German-language-challenged among you).

Your guide to who's running for PA lieutenant governor — and why you should care

Old City fire update: Chestnut Street is reopen between Second and Third

This article has 1 other Philadelphia location (Show)

A riot of quiet confusion at Front and Girard #BillyPennGram

Your guide to who's running for PA lieutenant governor - and why you should care
It's been called the "most irrelevant" political office in Harrisburg. Not this year. The lieutenant governorship of Pennsylvania is normally an afterthought. This election, the race has drawn a big crop of candidates, some more high-profile than others. It's also drawn a significant amount of media interest, much of it focused on the running feud between the current LG and governor.

Comcast branding win: People think the new Avengers movie is called 'Xfinity War'
The latest Avengers movie had a stellar second weekend, boosting its take over $1 billion and setting it on the path to becoming the first summer release to notch $2 billion in worldwide box office. Infinity War's popularity may or may not support the marketing claim that the flick is the "most ambitious crossover event in history."

This new Germantown brewery is asking neighborhood residents to become investors

Old City fire update: Chestnut Street is reopen between Second and Third

This new Germantown brewery is asking neighborhood residents to become investors
A brewery opening in Philly isn't huge news these days, thanks to the recent trend in beermakers opening within the city limits. Hearing that the new brewery is turning to a form of crowdfunding to get off the ground also isn't surprising - the model has become almost standard for independent entrepreneurs looking to enter the hospitality market.
