P.G.I. has been around for many years, known as Party Girls Inc. in the Frankford area and was most active in the 1990’s. They have always projected a positive vibe at all their functions and events.

The video below was produced back in 2001 when there was a great deal of very positive activity on Frankford Avenue. The five people who were interviewed for their recollections of Frankford give first person accounts of things we can now only read about. It is only about 20 minutes long but well worth seeing again. Thanks to Joe Menkevich for digging up the old VHS tape.

100 years ago, the United States was at war. It became official on April 6th of 1917 and in June of that year, young men all over America and Frankford, began registering for the draft. The war in Europe had been going on since 1914 and was at a stalemate. It would take the entry of the United States to bring it to an end.

Unfortunately, Frankford Branch is closed. However, did you know that you can take the Market-Frankford Line on the corner from here and get off at Allegheny Station, walk two blocks, and you will be at McPherson Square Branch? Or, you can get off at York-Dauphin Station and walk one block to Kensington Branch?

Happy Valentine’s Day! Big thanks to everyone who’s helped us #lovethatlot, transforming a vacant lot into Frankford Pause Park! Special shoutout to Community Design Collaborative, Philadelphia City Planning Commission , PHS : Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, Hinge Collective, Frankford Garden Club, Tookany/Tacony-Frankford (TTF) Watershed Partnership, and Frankford Friends School. None of this would be possible without the support of our elected officials, Rep. Jason Dawkins, Councilwoman María Quiñones-Sánchez, and Senator Tina Tartaglione. 📷 Chris Baker Evens Photography
I attended the meeting concerning the current planning stage of the new park to be located where Orthodox meets the Delaware River. Many of us would like this park to be named Point-No-Point Park. Representatives from Langan Engineering asked about this name. Wikipedia has a good article about the name of this area in colonial times. Read the story here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bridesburg,_Philadelphia#Point-No-Point --Mike Finn
At age 13, I lost my older brother to homicide. A few years later, my younger brother made a bad decision that resulted in a murder conviction. My story is not unique. I have been a witness to both sides of the criminal justice equation, and I have experienced tragedy that is far too familiar to families and individuals across our nation. But this tragedy has not defined me. I believe in redemption. Our Constitution was founded on such a principle, and I believe that the people of Pennsylvania deserve that same chance at redemption – they deserve our support and they deserve our advocacy.
Corrected data - thank you, Cindy Sabatino!

Bulletin hits the streets of the Burg today but we have a problem. Our distributor caught two women in a blue Astro van stealing bundles off the corners. Now we don't have coupons to take but we did get a tag # and description that the were two African American females following our delivery truck. If you didn't get your paper let us know and we'll personally deliver!!!
