FINAL PUBLIC MEETING: NORTHEAST DISTRICT PLAN Details: Lovett Library & Park, 6945 Germantown Avenue (ADA accessible) Monday, June 18 Choose from two identical open house sessions: 3:30-5:00pm - raffle prize drawing at 5:00pm 6:00-7:30pm - stay afterwards for Mount Airy USA's Music Monday in the park At the meeting, give your feedback about #Phila2035 Upper Northwest plan recommendations for: • Housing affordability and growth • Parks: improvements and easier access • Culture and history • Vacant land and buildings • Streets, plazas, and other public spaces • Libraries, health centers, and rec centers • Transportation and safe streets • Reusing large city-owned buildings • And more! Can't make it to the meeting? From July 17- September 14, you can comment on the draft plan online: www.phila2035.org/upper-northwest. What's a Plan? A city plan uses community input, research, and surveying, to guide how to improve housing, neighborhoods, jobs, shopping options, transportation, and public space. Plans also identify how to turn the ideas in the plan into action. Once completed, City Planning works with other city departments, partners, and community groups to make the plan happen. Learn more about Philadelphia2035 and the Upper Northwest District. What's Next? Your input will be incorporated into the draft plan, which will be presented at the City Planning Commission on July 17th, open to the public! The Draft Plan will then be published on www.phila2035.org/upper-northwest. From July 17 - September 14 they will accept comments from the public on the Draft Plan and make changes as appropriate. The final version of the plan will be presented for adoption at the September 18th City Planning Commission meeting, open to the public! Once the plan is adopted, City agencies, such as the Streets Department and the Department of Parks & Recreation use the recommendations to guide their projects and capital funding. Community groups, non-profit organizations and institutions also work to make the recommendations a reality. City Planning Commission and City Council work with community groups to implement the zoning recommendations.
