One of the country's fastest-growing sports, pickleball, which has nothing to do with pickles, is a combination of tennis, badminton, and table tennis.

Apparently Philly has a ton of parking. Researchers estimate there are 2,172,896 spots in the city — that's 1.4 parking spaces for every resident, or 3.2 per household.

Philadelphia has 2,172,896 parking spaces. So how come you're still circling the block?
There are few things Philadelphians like to complain about more than parking. There's not enough, some argue. There's too much, others contend. Finding a spot takes too long, or garages are too expensive. Some residents believe on-street permit prices should increase - even five or tenfold. Others say parking should be free.

Ever wonder if the National Archives and Records Administration has records of aliens and UFOs in our holdings? If so, you’re in luck! Our colleague Joseph Gillette, an Archivist on a cross-training assignment in the National Archives History Office, wrote a series about the Air Force’s Project Blue Book, as well as its precursors, Project Sign and Project Grudge. The purpose of these projects was to investigate the increasing number of unidentified flying object (UFO) sightings throughout America and determine their nature and any potential threat. This blog posted, entitled “INVASION! (of privacy),” is the first in a three part series which explores the Project Blue Book and discusses records of UFOs in the holdings of the National Archives! We are grateful to curator Bob Skiba and archivist John Anderies for celebrating their birthdays this year with online fundraisers to support the John J. Wilcox, Jr. Archives at William Way LGBT Community Center. We are fortunate to have such passionate, creative, and diligent stewards of Philadelphia's LGBTQ+ histories in Bob and John. Our heartfelt thanks go out to all who contributed. Together, you raised over $2,000 for the archives(!), helping us collect, preserve, and share your one-of-a-kind stories. Want to know more about the Wilcox Archives? You can follow their lively Facebook page above; visit us now in person for an exhibit on LGBTQ media (on view daily in the archives gallery); see a special exhibit at the Liberty Bell Pavilion on Gay Rights and the Courts (more about that here: http://www.waygay.org/pr-sofe); or check out our new online exhibition here: https://sofe.wilcoxarchives.org/.
