Hello My name is Marc Reason. I have purposely stayed out of the food truck issue because I believed and still believe it is a block issue. I believe the residents voices should be heard. Since social media campaigns have been started and news paper articles have suggested that people that look like each other are trying to keep one group from conducting a mobile business, I felt the need to speak out. From Philly Voice Article License and Inspection quote - "UPDATE: Several hours after this story was published, L&I responded to an earlier request for comment. Department spokeswoman Karen Guss said the truck "still has valid licenses and can operate anywhere in Philadelphia that is not expressly restricted." "The Platters operators’ license was not a license to vend right outside of their barber shop. The license was not for any one location," she said, noting that there is some level of community opposition to the truck. "There would have been no reason for L&I to know that that specific location is what those guys had in mind." I DON'T WANT A FOOD TRUCK ON MY BLOCK JUST LIKE THE RESIDENTS ON DREXEL RD DON'T WANT ONE ON THEIR BLOCK. TRYING TO INTIMIDATE RESIDENTS IS SAD AND DISGUSTING ESPECIALLY COMING FROM PEOPLE THAT DO NOT LIVE IN OVERBROOK PARK. SO AGAIN I MARC A. REASON SUPPORT MY COMMUNITY, MY NEIGHBORS AND THAT DOESN'T MAKE ME ANTI- BUSINESS, ANTI YOUNG BLACK MALES IT JUST MAKES ME A GOOD NEIGHBOR. I STAND WITH DREXEL ROAD RESIDENTS. SINCERELY, MARC A REASON

April 19th was such a busy day at Wynnefield library. In the morning, we had a glorious time celebrating with our One Book Every Young Child storytime featuring Zachariah Ohara's book, "My Cousin Momo. We had a wonderful traveling trunk full of activities to enjoy including puzzles, matching activities, puppets, and super hero action figures. In the afternoon, The Friends of Wynnefield Library hosted their Book and Bake Sale to the delight of our patrons. Also during the afternoon, the Office of Emergency Management held their monthly ReadyCommunity meeting with special guests from PGW. They provided attendees with vital information and great giveaways!

So great!! Thanks Active Day Overbrook Park for sprucing up Haverford Ave
The situation we have with these tractor trailers parking on residential streets is very dangerous. These two trailers were parked over night on 76th between Woodbine and Woodcrest. The residents on Woodcrest cannot see to get off of their block or out of their drive way. Neighbors have called 911 and have repeatedly reported these trailers and nothing is happening. There is a no truck parking 6am - 6pm sign posted so these trailers should get ticketed but they have not been. The red cab is parked overnight on a daily basis. Councilman Curtis Jones, Jr. Philadelphia Parking Authority Philadelphia Police Department we need legislation to increase the fines for these trailers so they will not park on our side streets.
We are so excited that Amy Sullivan - Greaterphillyhomes of Keller Williams Main Line has chosen Rose Playground for their community service site for Red Day http://www.kw.com/kw/redday.html#.Wud66_kvzX4
