The Print Center announces the naming of the Zemel Family Gallery, made possible by a generous gift from Jay Zemel to our Centennial Fund. The Zemel Family Gallery is the first such named space in The Print Center's historic home and will be celebrated with a private launch event on June 23, 2018. * Jay's continued dedication to The Print Center honors our legacy as one of Philadelphia's most significant cultural assets. This gift to the Centennial Fund will inspire others to connect with our extraordinary history and ensure that our building, imbued with the spirit of a century of great exhibitions, remains a vital home for many more generations of art, artists and collectors. - Elizabeth Spungen, Executive Director * On view in the Zemel Family Gallery through August 4, 2018 is a solo show exhibition award winner from the 92nd ANNUAL: Daniel W. Weather nerd time! As a cold front is making ...

Weather nerd time! As a cold front is making its way through the area today, a sea breeze is moving inland behind it. If you look close enough, you can make out the faint east-west oriented front on radar moving south through southern NJ and the north-south oriented sea breeze fine line moving westward and inland along and north of the front in eastern NJ. Why is this?? The wind ahead of the front is westerly which hinders the sea breeze boundary from propagating westward and inland, essentially "pushing" it toward the coast. The wind behind the front is northerly and therefore the wind is no longer "pushing" the sea breeze toward the coast. The result is the sea breeze moving inland. 🤓
