City Council approves first 64 Rebuild sites: Here's what's coming! | Office of the Mayor
In early June 2018, City Council approved the first round of sites for Rebuild! Here's what that means and why that's important. Rebuild is the City's program to improve parks, rec centers, playgrounds, and libraries across Philly's neighborhoods. Most sites will be funded through bonds paid for by the Philadelphia Beverage Tax.

#OnThisDay in 1943, The Philadelphia Eagles and the Pittsburgh Steelers combined into one team due to player shortages caused by WWII. The "Steagles" went 5-4-1, and the two teams went back to normal in 1944!

    Steagles - Wikipedia
The Steagles were the team created by the temporary merger of two National Football League (NFL) teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Philadelphia Eagles, during the 1943 season. The teams were forced to merge because both had lost many players to military service during World War II.

June 15 is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day - an important annual event that spotlights a devastating daily occurrence for millions of older adults. According to the World Health Organization, about 1 in 6 older people experienced some form of abuse in the past year. Too often, elder abuse goes unreported and untreated.
