June 14 th - was our rescheduled monthly meeting. The board scheduled this new date to accommodate a vote on PATH. Their appeal is scheduled for 6-21-2018. PATH responded to inquiries from the neighborhood; forwarded by the R.C.O. The response as addressed by residents left many unanswered questions. As scheduled 6:30 - 7:00pm " A motion to vote on PATH's Appeal was made. The motion and vote was made solely on the 4 reasons for appeal. Results of the vote. 19- Opposed 4- Support 1- no vote. The recorded vote was forwarded to PATH and the Councilmans Office prior to noon 15 th as promised. Additionally the residents requested a deed restriction on the parking lot property ; to be used only for parking. A public hearing at The Z.B.A. Is scheduled for 4:30 pm 6-21-2018. 7:00 pm- Strahle St. Assisted living duplex to have up to 5 subsidized tenent's and full time supervision was heard. Special exceptions/ Z.B.A. Results will be posted next week.

Our Assosiation is not an appendage of City Hall! I want to respectfully make it as clear as I can. We have worked in our community to protect and promote a safer ; cleaner; purer and wholesome environment for all of our residents. Zoning- These " meetings/ hearing" while we as a group hash out something which "might" benifit or " might not" benifit us; should never devide us as a community! The ZBA implements and ajudicates the laws as they apply to each zoning issue. When a current " idea" or desire of a business or resident does not meet these regulations we are asked to provide a forum for a meeting. The meeting isn't to discuss the operations of the presenter! The meeting is to address the REASONS listed on the REFUSAL! Why you like someone or something is very important to you. However if our " personal desires" aren't listed on the REFUSAL ; they aren't the topic of dicusion. Example; An icecream store wants to open up on Castor Ave. They are Refused because the zoning laws require a parking lot; which doesn't exist. We are presented to see if WE ; as a community ( Assiciation) would be " WILLING to overlook the absence of a parking lot and suggest.... Yes SUGGEST they be allowed to open. " will you serve vanilla ?" " will children eat your icecream?" " will people throw trash on the ground?" And best yet... " I've eaten there icecream for 49 years it's the best!!!" Folks the REFUSAL was for Parking!!! If a parking lot existed the store would be open already! At our last meeting business owners pushed for a vote. Why???? They want customers!!! Currently a Corperation which is the owner of an adjacent property ; while protocol for notice was instituted; the Corperate office was never forwarded the information. Simply ; if we rush; if we are pushed; if we aren't focused and diligent we are wasting resources that could better serve our community.
