The 1,100-square-foot straight-thru with a red-brick front and private space out back at 1520 South Beulah Street in South Philly is the product of recent renovations. The work has left the two-bedroom, two-bathroom space sleek and shiny. There is also plenty of exposed brick, if that's your thing, as well as plenty of hardwood.

Frequent rains over the next few days will lead to the possibility for stream and river flooding. The map below shows that there will only be a few issues the next day or so, but this could change later this weekend. Pay attention to future forecasts in case any flood products are issued. More information about how river forecasts are prepared can be found at this link: http://www.weather.gov/media/marfc/FactSheets/Fact_Sheet_Understanding_River_Forecast_Process_FINAL_singlepgs.pdf

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Carbon and Monroe County, Pennsylvania and Sussex County, New Jersey for a period of light freezing rain expected late this afternoon into this evening. Another period of light freezing rain is possible Friday morning for the same areas that are under the current advisory, as well as other portions of northeast Pennsylvania and northern New Jersey. A light glaze of ice, perhaps a few hundredths of an inch, may result in slippery roads and walkways tonight and Friday morning. Especially for bridges and overpasses.

Changes Ahead.... Good evening! Record highs were set today for all of our climate sites but the warmth is coming to an end as conditions turn unsettled. At this time, a developing line of showers with some embedded thunderstorms is moving east from Lancaster County into Chester and Berks Counties over eastern Pennsylvania. These showers are moving at around 35 mph and will reach the Interstate 95 corridor from Wilmington, DE to Philadelphia near or shortly after 7 PM before continuing to move east into New Jersey as well as portions of Delaware and eastern Maryland. Some of these showers and storms could be locally heavy and produce gusty winds to around 35 mph along with reduced visibilities.

As of 2:30 pm, all of our climate sites have set daily high temperature records. Six out of the eight have either tied or set all time February records. Allentown and Reading have both hit 80 degrees. This is the first time any of our climate sites have hit 80 degrees in the month of February. Higher temperatures are still possible this afternoon. Temperatures are not official until we generate our climate reports. Note: In the table sent out this morning, the February all time records for Mount Pocono and Reading were reversed. Sorry!

Where to Eat at Reading Terminal Market

The original Termini Bros. shop in South Philly (1523 S. 8th Street) is a pilgrimage in itself, but for many Philadelphians it’s the Reading Terminal outpost that they know and love. No swing through the market is complete without a cannoli, the Sicilian ricotta-filled treat.

Where to Eat at Reading Terminal Market
With row after row of vendors offering everything from Pennsylvania Dutch pot pies to Peking duck, Reading Terminal Market is an international food hall with a decidedly Philadelphian flair. The jumble of sit-down eateries, to-go stands, produce shops, butchers, and bakeries at this 125-year-old spot make for a destination that's a favorite with locals and tourists alike.

***Evening Update*** * Unseasonably warm temperatures continue through Wednesday with most of the forecast area seeing highs once again into the 70s tomorrow! It should be noted, places right near the coast and Delaware Bay will be cooler due to the still very cold water temperatures. *Fog will once again be an issue tonight into Wednesday morning and could be quite dense in places. Similar to today, expect this to burn off by late morning. *Unsettled and somewhat cooler weather will be the main story for the Thursday through Sunday period with off and on rain. It won't be raining continuously but most places will see at least some rain each of these days. Before we get to the warm weather tomorrow, we will have some fog overnight. Areas of fog have already developed primarily north and west of the Interstate 95 corridor so far. However, fog may become more widespread overnight. If you will be out driving tonight, here are a few safety tips, courtesy of http://www.nws.noaa.gov/om/fog/driving.shtml 1. Slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination. 2. Make your vehicle visible to others both ahead of you and behind you by using your low-beam headlights since this means your taillights will also be on. Use fog lights if you have them. 3. Never use your high-beam lights. Using high beam lights causes glare, making it more difficult for you to see what’s ahead of you on the road. 4. Leave plenty of distance between you and the vehicle in front of you to account for sudden stops or changes in the traffic pattern.

Good morning and Happy Presidents Day, everybody! A warm front lifts through tonight, and then Bermuda high pressure will usher record setting warmth on Tuesday and Wednesday with high temperatures closer to mid-May than mid-February! Temperatures then cool off for the end of the week, but remain above normal. No widespread snow for at least the next 7 days! Enjoy!

Good Monday morning NWS Mt Holly FB friends a...

Good Monday morning NWS Mt Holly FB friends and visitors to NJ DE e PA e MD. Showers should arrive late this morning or afternoon. Dense fog is possible tonight. A huge warmup is expected Tue-Wed with record breaking warmth, especially Wednesday when forecast highs in the mid 70s...should be within 4 degrees of the all time February highest record. Then it chills Thursday with a period rain (possibly briefly mxg with sleet/frzg rain ne PA high terrain) . Seems like a better chance of icing Friday morning near and north of I-80. Overall, periods of rain Thursday-Sunday should bring us 1-2 inches, probably propelling Atlantic City to all time Feb wettest record and probably pushing Philly and Wilmington into the top 10 wettest February in our 100+ years of record keeping.
