As new members of the Philadelphia Crosstown ...

As new members of the Philadelphia Crosstown Coalition Cobbs Creek Neighbors co-signed a petition asking that the review period for the Inclusionary Housing Bill (#170678) be extended so civic association and other RCO members "can have the time to digest its implications for our neighborhoods", after petitioning the Rules Committee the bill unfortunately passed without a recommendation and without a suspension of the rules but this means we can come up with some alternatives or amendments in the new year. The bill, introduced by Councilwoman María Quiñones-Sánchez, "was touted as the antidote that would help neutralize gentrification" however the Coalition had some concerns about some of the language of the bill. In an effort to keep you, our neighbors, in the loop we wanted to share some articles about this bill and the review process for your review. We will share links in the comments, please read them at your leisure and feel free to comment with any questions or concerns. We'd love to have a dialogue about this process and what it means for affordable housing in our community. Article links in comments.

GENTRIFICATION

Stop it now. I believe you have done enough to hurt the African Americans homeowners by restoring/renovating, or buying property and charging and exorbitant amount to rent or purchase said property. You have medical buildings everywhere throughout the city, and i for one see exactly what you are doing. You have no shame or equality built in our your method(s).
