Soccer

First German Sports Club Phoenix, 301 W. Bristol Road, Feasterville-Trevose, Pa.

    Encyclopedia of Greater Philadelphia
Soccer has been played in the Philadelphia area since the late nineteenth century. The rules of Association football, known in the United States as soccer, were formulated in England in 1863. Various forms of football were played in Philadelphia before that time and after, but the first game of soccer in the city "under proper rules" took place on March 19, 1881.

Set in Hunting Park, the training will begin on April 4 with a sit-down class, and end on April 7 with the planting of 16 trees on the 400 block of West Cayuga Street.

Burglars Dressed as Workmen

Beware of a group of men most likely a duo dressed as workmen removing antique fixtures like doors and windows or other items. The 1300 Block of Hunting Park Ave was hit 3 times. Described as 2 black men one short the other tall wearing yellow hard had and carrying a yellow level stick, which they left at one of the properties and two Latino men one very short and the other around 5' 8" and husky.

Please call the police if you suspect any suspicious activity and if you see workers removing items from a neighbors home photograph them on your cell, get license plates and call the authorities.
