Philly Brunch Maps: Old City's 10 great brunch spots
Objectively, brunch might be nothing more than breakfast with a chance of booze, but those who revel in the weekend morning splurge know it's more than the sum of its parts. Just saying the word is enough to conjure scenes of relaxed enjoyment, of leisure time with friends boosted by the occasional interruption of delicious bites.

Young Heroes Outreach Begins Action Phase

NLM’s year-long Young Heroes Outreach Program, which takes the Museum’s lessons on civic leadership directly into schools, is now entering the phase when the students choose a social issue that matters to them and plan Action Steps to address that issue. Students in the seventeen schools NLM currently serves have been brainstorming and researching issues for the past several weeks. Their breadth of knowledge and commitment is truly impressive. The students have been considering  a wide range of topics from bullying to gerrymandering. The following seven schools have made their decisions. A formal presentation of each school’s social issue will take place at our annual Young Heroes Impact Celebration on June 2 at Girard College. Watch for event information on this website.

‘Bursting at the seams,’ Clay Studio plans move from Old City to Kensington

“Every time we’ve expanded, it’s taken off,” said president Christopher Taylor, who last stretched out the Clay Studio’s current space at 139 N. Second St. in 2007. “We built it for 1,100 students. Last year, we had 4,600 students. We’re bursting at the seams.”

'Bursting at the seams,' Clay Studio plans move from Old City to Kensington
After more than four decades, one of Philadelphia's anchor arts organizations on Second Street in Old City is pulling up stakes to establish itself in a new neighborhood. The Clay Studio's sculpture workshop, education facility, and exhibition space was founded on a top floor of a row house in Old City in 1974.
