"We're in the middle of it all, instead of on the fringe," said owner Aaron Ultimo, who opened the cafe last month.

For Philly’s empty nesters, sometimes two condos are better than one

It’s a trend that developer Tom Scannapieco began to consider after the opening of 1706 Rittenhouse in 2010. “Prior to the development of 1706 Rittenhouse, typical residential towers in Center City...

For Philly's empty nesters, sometimes two condos are better than one
It was May 2015, and Carl Dranoff had barely even broken ground on One Riverside, a 22-story condo tower poised to bring 82 luxury residences to the Schuylkill River banks. Yet interest from potential buyers was growing, with units being reserved left and right. That's about the time that broker Marianne Harris started to worry.

Wednesday: see FRANKENSTEIN unfold before you eyes with a thrilling solo performance, brought to you by Going Dark Theatre! https://rosenbach.org/events/frankenstein-performed-by-going-dark-theatre/

Frankenstein, performed by Going Dark Theatre
"A Frankenstein with the Hollywood additions scraped off, one that began in the Arctic wastes, revealed the self-deluded nature of Victor's ambitions, and presented the Creature with horror and unalloyed sympathy. I cannot be the only person to leave the evening determined to reread Mary Shelley's masterpiece as soon as possible .

Nicholas Muellner, from in Most Tides An Island, 2017 Nicholas Muellner (Ithaca, NY) combines text and image in his book In Most Tides An Island (Self Publish, Be Happy, 2017). The book explores two distinct subjects, one documentary, the other based in invention, which converge unexpectedly. Muellner’s work witnesses the lives of closeted gay men in provincial Russia, while also composing the gothic tale of a solitary woman on a remote tropical island. “Shot along Baltic, Caribbean and Black Sea coastlines, distant landscapes met at the rocky point of Alone,” says Muellner, “From that vista, they ask: what do intimacy and solitude mean in a radically alienated but hyper-connected world?” On view, two exhibitions: By the Book Vol. 2: New Photography Publications and Collaborative Histories: Dieu Donné through April 21, 2018. By the Book Vol. 2: New Photography Publications is The Print Center's second exhibition dedicated to new photo publications and the artworks that inspired them. The exhibition includes books and artworks by Saleem Ahmed, Tim Carpenter, Julianna Foster, Nicholas Muellner and Public Collectors. http://printcenter.org/100/collab-histories-by-the-book/
