Here at our office in Mount Holly, we've observed rain every day for the past 11 days straight. We are excited that we expect this streak to end today! Unfortunately, we expect more rain showers and storms tomorrow, but things should clear up and dry out through the beginning of the weekend. Expect to see a lot of ☀️ by the end of the week! Enjoy! 🌞

This high-resolution visible imagery from the GOES-16 satellite captured an unique wave cloud structure called an undular bore that formed off the New Jersey coast late this afternoon. The undular bore formed as rain-cooled air that developed out ahead of a line of showers and thunderstorms (also known as a gust front or outflow boundary) moved off the coast and into stable marine air (because the ocean waters are still very cold).

After several days of cool and wet weather, temperatures are finally on the rise this morning! Most locations are already well into the 70s and we expect afternoon highs to be around the 80° mark, give or take a few degrees. It'll be a humid one, though! Showers and storms remain possible today and Tuesday. Much more pleasant and dry weather settles into the region by the middle of the week with highs around 80° and lows around 60°.

A Flood Warning is in effect through early Sunday morning for a small portion of Kent County, DE and Caroline County, MD, where flooding is imminent along the Choptank River . The river gauge at Greensboro, MD continues to rise in response to the heavy rains (3-6") over the past few days and should reach minor flood stage this evening.

Good morning! Light to moderate rain is currently making its way through the area ahead of an approaching warm front to our south. As this warm front moves northward through our area today, rainfall will begin to taper off and temperatures will begin to rise this afternoon through Sunday when many locations will warm to around 80°!
