For those of you wishing for summer weather, be careful what you wish for. Dangerously hot conditions will be possible across much of the region Monday from mid day through early evening. Try to limit outdoor activities during the hottest portion of the day. If you must be outside, take frequent breaks, wear light weight, loose-fitting clothing, and drink plenty of water.

Good Sunday morning! The temperatures will make a run at 90 degrees this afternoon for many inland areas. The humidity should remain low enough today, however hotter and more humid conditions are expected Monday and Tuesday. The heat index will reach to around 100 degrees for much of the area Monday afternoon. Going to the beach today? The rip current risk for today is low. Have a great day!

Good Saturday morning! A cool start to the day with temperatures in the 50s, with even some 40s across mainly the Poconos and northwestern New Jersey. Plenty of sunshine today with afternoon temperatures rising into the 80s for most of the area. The wind will turn more southerly this afternoon, and this will allow for some cooling along the coast. Going to the beach? There is a low risk of rip currents today. For the surf zone forecasts, check out this page: https://www.weather.gov/phi/surfrip4

Don't know about you, but we are loving the current weather! Temperatures will be on the rise through Monday, providing a break from the cool, wet weather we've generally been dealing with over the past few weeks. In fact, most places are forecast to top 90 degrees on Monday. Return flow will bring more moisture to the region and higher dew points starting on Sunday, so we will likely be dealing with high heat indices by Monday. Have a great weekend everyone.

Storms last night produced an interesting outflow boundary that moved south across New Jersey over night. An outflow boundary (a.k.a gust front) is essentially a boundary between cooler air descended from a thunderstorm that sinks and spreads outward due to to its higher density than surrounding air. The radar detects insects and/or dust that are lofted into the air by the wind along this outflow, which is why you can see it as a line on the radar loop here.

5:30 am Update: Heavy rainfall set up overnight along a west to east line just north of Philadelphia with some areas picking up over 5 inches of rain. The area of heavy rainfall continues to move off to the south. There are many issues with water on roadways this morning, so check your route before you head out the door. Here is a look at the current flood watches and warnings that are in effect. An Areal Flood Warning (lime green) remains in effect for Berks, Chest, and Montgomery Counties (PA) until 9:45 am; an Areal Flood Warning in Burlington, Camden (NJ) and Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties (PA) until 10:30 am; and an Areal Flood Warning in Ocean County (NJ) until 10:00 am. Most of southern NJ, DE, and the Eastern Shore of MD remain under Areal Flood Advisories (light green) through the mid-morning. A Flash Flood Watch (dark green) continues for most of the southern portions of our forecast area until 8:00 am this morning. To see all watches, warnings, and advisories, along with the forecast for your neighborhood, check out our webpage: https://www.weather.gov/phi/. Let us know if you encounter any flooding. Please include the time and exact location. Photos are also quite helpful! Stay safe and never drive or walk through flood waters. Turn around, don't drown!

We've issued a Flash Flood Watch for DE, far SE PA, southern NJ, eastern MD which is in effect until 8am Monday. Happy Saturday! It'll be warm today with highs around 80° in most locations. We're expecting scattered showers and thunderstorms to develop this afternoon and evening primarily in locations south of the Trenton area and into the Delmarva region. Sunday will be cooler with more widespread rain showers and thunderstorms, especially later in the day and into the overnight hours. The rainfall this weekend may be heavy at times and produce spotty urban flooding in poor drainage areas. Any lingering showers should be exiting the area by Monday morning. Enjoy your weekend!

Sign, Sign, Everywhere a Sign! Blockin' out the Scenery, Breakin' my Mind! Buy this, Cash 4 that! Let's Destroy the Signs! Saturday, June 16 marks an exciting opportunity for civic groups and neighbors themselves, and we hope you'll participate! East Point Breeze Neighbors is officially registered for the ILLEGAL SIGNS ROUNDUP, and we need your help. The city will pay fifty cents for every illegal "Bandit" sign that is collected and turned in at the collection point on Saturday (up to 500 signs). EPBN will use all funds raised towards Cleaning and Greening efforts. On 6/16, we need as many volunteers as possible to go out into the neighborhood in sign-collecting posses of 2-4 people. We'd like you to check in at Manton Green (17th and MantonS between 9 and 10am, and we'll group everyone and give you a general direction. After your sign-hunting expedition is complete, you'll bring your cache back to us at Manton Green and we'll take them all down to the collection point at FDR park and have them counted. We'd like to find as many people with high-capacity vehicles as possible (station wagons, SUVs, Pickups, etc) to be posse-transporters. If you're interested, please email clean@epbneighbors.org or comment here or message us and tell us whether you have a car that you don't mind shuttling around the neighborhood for a couple of hours. Your RSVP is important so we can have an idea of how many people/cars we have signed up. Get it? SIGNED up!?

***Weekend Highlights*** Good morning! Plent...

***Weekend Highlights*** Good morning! Plenty of sunshine with warm temperatures and dry weather for today but the forecast gets more complex once again for the weekend. We expect scattered showers and thunderstorms to develop tomorrow, mainly during the afternoon into the evening and mainly from the Philadelphia area southward where storms will also have the potential to produce very heavy rainfall. This could lead to urban and poor drainage flooding in spots. Also, the Storm Prediction Center has placed southern parts of the forecast area in a Marginal Risk for severe storms meaning a few isolated severe storms will be possible. This won't be a complete washout. In fact many places could go large portions of the day rain free. Just one of those typical summer days with scattered storms where you need to be aware of the forecast and keep an eye to the sky if you have outdoor plans. The chance for showers/storms lingers across southern areas into Sunday though they may not be as widespread. For the latest forecast details specific to your location, please visit weather.gov/phi and enter your city or zip code in the upper left. Have a great day!
