Memorandums are written messages which can document anything: the installation of a new water fountain, organizational changes, policies, and much more. Featured here is a memorandum related to the archaeological investigation at El Morro, which is part of the San Juan National Historic Site in Puerto Rico. This memo details the work that has already been performed and also includes photographic attachments to document progress made on the dig. Check out the rest of this memo here: https://catalog.archives.gov/id/40304916. Want to learn more about our holdings? You can check out our online catalog (www.catalog.archives.gov) and make an appointment to view our holdings at the National Archives at Philadelphia by calling (215) 305-2044 or emailing philadelphia.archives@nara.gov. Councilman Domb is proud to see Esora and Daniel, students from the Career and Technical Education program at Benjamin Franklin High School (Philadelphia), starting their 5-week internships with PRDC Properties LLC, working on re-developing the Heid building at 13th & Wood into apartments. Councilman Domb encouraged PRDC CEO David Perlman to offer internships for Philadelphia public school students as the company works for a year and a half to convert the former hat factory into more than 100 apartments. Domb regularly reminds local business owners that they should provide internships to current students and hire graduating students from Philadelphia's public schools. “We need qualified people,” said Domb. “So why not use own and teach our own — from Philadelphia, born and raised in Philadelphia — to work in the companies in Philadelphia.”

Did a Chinatown restaurant steal the secret sauce?

That month, Huang and Liang opened Chu Shang Spicy, at 925 Arch St., under the legal name Laoma Philly LLC. The New York restaurant’s corporate name is Laoma Spicy LLC.

Name disputes among Chinatown restaurants are not uncommon. After Xi’An Famous Food opened at 902 Arch St. in 2013, it received word from the New York restaurant of the same name. It later was renamed Xi’an Sizzling Woks.

In another case, a settlement was reached three years ago to separate the rival restaurants called Dim Sum Garden. The one at 1020 Race St. uses the Dim Sum Garden name, while the original restaurant, at 59 N. 11th St., is called Tom’s Dim Sum.
