This article has very good information. Nobody wants to have a fire in their home and a smoke alarm can save your life. As the wife of a PFD Liuetenant, i have heard heart breaking stories about loss of property and loss of life. All homes should have working smoke alarms. Please call 311 and put in a request for a free 10 year smoke alarm that will be installed by your local firehouse. If you have elderly or disabled neighbors, please try to check to see if their smoke alarms work. If they don’t, put in a 311 request or email this page and i can see what can be done to get a smoke alarm.
