#SAAM Day 2: FACT: 1 out of every 6 American women has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime (14.8% completed, 2.8% attempted) Look around you and know that there just might be someone very close to you who has been a victim of Sexual Violence at some point in their life. That woman could be your mom, aunt, grandmom, sister, cousin, best friend, or even your boss. Remember, NO person of any gender chooses to become a Victim of Sexual Violence just know that it does happen and they are telling the #Truth. #SupportSurvivors (statistics provided by RAINN)

Check out this little gem right in the heart of Philly! Every Sunday from 7am to 9 am, the Old Pine Community Center, offers free breakfast to the homeless, low income and anyone else who likes to join. They give clothes and toiletries to those who need them. It's done restaurant style which is truly amazing and WOAR there!!! Everyone deserves self care!!! How will you practice Self Care today?

Teaching children early about Healthy Relationships sets a foundation that they can build upon as they get older. Learning about Human Right’s, Strength and Self Awareness help to support their decisions about who they chose to be in relation with but also how healthy is their relationship is with themselves. Here are a few examples by a group of young ladies, 12 years old from WOAR’s Building Healthy Relationships program at the Young Scholars Charter middle school led by Education Specialist Leah Dirkse. Announcing Women Organized Against Rape - WOAR's 2018 Carole Johnson Humanitarian Award recipient: Dr. Edna Foa, PhD Dr. Edna Foa is a professor at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and Hahnemann University and director of the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety at University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Foa is an internationally renowned authority on the psychopathology and treatment of anxiety. Her commitment to delineating etiological frameworks and targeted treatment has been highly influential. She is one of the leading experts in the areas of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and phobias. Dr. Foa developed a therapy, prolonged exposure therapy, to treat post-traumatic stress disorder. Prolonged exposure therapy involves recounting the trauma and is for adult victims of sexual assault. The program she developed for rape victims is considered the most effective therapy for post-trauma sequelae. Congratulations Dr. Foa!
