El Carnaval De Puebla Celebrates Mexican Heritage With A Big Parade And Festival This Sunday

The parade begins at 16th Street and Washington Avenue and concludes at Sacks Playground (4th Street and Washington Avenue), where a big festival goes down. Four live bands (including two from Mexico) will provide entertainment.

    After a one-year hiatus, El Carnaval de Puebla returns to South Philadelphia on Sunday, April 29 for a huge celebration of Mexican culture and history. Honoring Mexico's 1862 victory at the Battle of Puebla, El Carnaval de Puebla - one of the city's largest Cinco de Mayo celebrations - features hundreds of Carnavaleros parading down Washington Avenue followed by a big fest in Pennsport.
