    Philly public pools: 2018 opening dates
    Happy summer, Philadelphia! The season officially begins next week, and with it, the opening of nearly six dozen city pools. Run by the Dept. of Parks and Recreation, the pools will open to the public at staggered dates. Things kick off on June 19 with the opening of Northeast Philly's Lawncrest pool, and continue with rolling launches for the following 10 days.

Overnight, Saturday into Sunday, the family's minivan, specially-equipped for Tim's wheelchair, was stolen from right out in front of their house in the 1100 block of Shelmire Street.

    The Sulock family's specially-equipped van is always parked out in front of their home on Shelmire Street in the Burholme section of the city. When they woke Sunday morning, it was gone. For Tim Sulock, who suffers from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, that van was his way to be out in the world.
