Today is Eid al-Fitr, and we're featuring a new modest-wear fashion store for story #24 in our 52 Stories about 52nd series.: The Showroom. Celebrate with a beautiful new hijab! Eid Fashion at The Showroom Simone S. Murphy, her supportive Husband and Mother in Law run the newest and arguably most beautiful shop on 52nd St. The Showroom, located on 5222 Chestnut St., brings a higher end and fashion conscious take on modest wear. The Showroom is meant to not only be a place to pick up fashions and Halal nail polish but to be an experience, says Simone. the beautiful Hijab, Abaya, and scarves come from as far as Dubai and new inventory comes every few weeks. It is important to the entire Murphy family to showcase Black American entrepreneurship at the highest levels. The Gorgeous modest designs will be on full display during Eid al-Fitr which celebrates the ending of Ramadan. Stop by the Showroom to see the fashions for yourself.

"In our community, McDonald's is not just a restaurant: it is a daycare, it is a senior center, and it is a youth rec center. " - our Corridor Manager Tempest Carter, emceed the ribbon cutting on the newly-renovated 52nd St. McDonald's, and she touched on the various ways that the community uses the McDonald's space. Franchisee Derek Giacomantonio was given a positive citation from City of Philadelphia Government, presented by Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell. Community partners like Freedom Valley YMCA, the Free Library, and Friends of Malcolm X. Park were also on hand to celebrate.
