Celebrate Juneteenth at these six family events
The Juneteenth holiday originated on June 19, 1865, when Union soldiers led by Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, to spread the word that the Emancipation Proclamation had ended slavery in the U.S. - two and a half years earlier - and that it was being enforced.

  • Project Learn School reviewed by a parent

I would never recommend anyone to this school they make you pay all this money you have to clean the school you have a week to bring in snacks and if your child stays for after care you have to provide snacks for everyone as well you pay all this money and still have to pay and work and the have you come in on a wed night for like a parent teacher night and you have to bring snacks as well and have you there all night . This school is not ran by any licensed teachers more like parents your just paying a lot of money for home school that does nothing

Couple's historic Philly home came with an unusual caveat: Annual battle reenactments | We the People

For Halloween, they turned the 2.45-acre property on the 6400 block of Germantown Avenue into the Land of Oz by bathing the mansion in emerald lights, creating a yellow brick road, and turning 200 red umbrellas into a field of poppies.

Couple's historic Philly home came with an unusual caveat: Annual battle reenactments | We the People
Meet: Alex Aberle and Violette Levy, young preservationists who've made Upsala mansion - formerly a historic house museum - their home. War zone: Once a year, the couple are required to allow their front yard to be turned into a battlefield for a Revolutionary War reenactment.
