Good news on the designation front. A Commonwealth Court panel has upheld the designation of 81-95 Fairmount Avenue, a row of c.1820s Federal homes, converted to office/warehouse use about a century later. In considering an appeal of the designation by the current owner, the Court found the appeal's claims "meritless."

Court preserves historic designation of Philly rowhomes
In a decision issued Monday, a panel of Commonwealth Court judges denied an appeal from VMDT Partnership, affirming a trial court decision in favor of the Philadelphia Historical Commission, which gave the designation to the Federal-style rowhomes at 81-95 Fairmount Avenue in Old City.
