Police: 5 robberies in Philadelphia likely connected; suspects sought

The suspects took the man's wallet and fled in an unknown direction. The armed suspect later tried to use one of the victim's debit cards at the Wawa at 518 South 2nd Street but the transaction was declined.

Police say the victim was walking in the 300 block of Fitzwater Street when he was approached by two men. One of them pointed a handgun at him and demanded his wallet.

Police say the victim was walking in the 700 block of South 9th Street when he was approached by a man who pointed a handgun at him and demanded money.

Police say the suspect got out of a gray sedan in the 1000 block of Fitzwater Street and put a handgun against the chest of the victim, demanding his belongings. He took the victim's iPhone and $60 cash before getting into the car and fleeing east on Fitzwater Street.

The victim was walking in the 900 block of Fitzwater Street when he was approached from behind by two men, one of whom pointed a handgun at him and demanded his belongings.

Police say the victims were walking in the 2100 block of Carpenter Street when they were approached by two men who pointed handguns at them. The victims were robbed of their wallets and $146 in cash. The suspects fled north on 21st Street from Carpenter.

    Philadelphia police are on the hunt for at least two suspects after a series of armed robberies in the city. The department's South Detective Division said the five robberies appear to be connected based similarities in the suspect descriptions, locations, and other factors.
