Moreover, positive black representation on television and film screens plays an important role in the struggle against the anti-black bias we face in this country. For many, viewing self-determination means realizing self-determination. After decades of asking for a modern black superhero, we finally got what we've asked for! There is no doubt that it is a rare opportunity for young people, especially those who are often marginalized. Help send the over 500 amazing students at Edward T. Steel Elementary School! to see The Black Panther movie. The theater we have contacted is UA Main Street 6, which is located on 3720 Main St, Manayunk, PA 19127. The price to rent an entire theater is about $10.28 per person. our goal is to send 100 per day for 5 days. Cost breakdown: Transportation (two 50 Passenger Van) $400.00 per day for 5 days ($2, 000.00) Movies: -$10.28 per child ($5,551.20) ***Any amount over our goal will go towards fundraising for a second school in North Philly.*** About Edward Steel Elementary School: Edward Steel Elementary is home to over 500 students predominately from the Nicetown neighborhood.
