Witnesses to after-hours jackhammering early morning July 16th

Did anyone in the vicinity of 19th and Bainbridge/Fitzwater and environs witness jackhammering beginning around 3 am the morning of July 16th or other street work being done around the same time July 17th? Though we clearly heard this, the streets department claims no work was being done at this time. If anyone happened to look out their window and see any trucks with the name of a contracting company on them, the Streets department says they can investigate the matter further. We're not holding our breath but figured it was worth a shot. Thanks!

  • You may have been hearing the work being done on South Broad Street.

  • PGW jackhammers at emergency gas leak sites at any hour. Was it them?
You should check or maybe even ask them to stop.

Dumping household trash in an alley.

I have neighbors in the 1600 Block of Manton strwet street who continue to put household trash in the alley that we cleaned last year. They did not do this when it was filled with cinder blicks and assorted rwfuse from years of dumping. Their trash day was today and the picture shows you what will remain until next week.

  • Take a pic then tweet pick to @philly311. They are remarkably responsive. Or call 311 for support to resolve. They will direct you. I've gotten trash and graffiti issues resolved this way.
