  • Huey Samuel B School reviewed by a teacher

This is a great place to work because of the principal and the staff. There is so much camaraderie. I am first year teacher in the district. I find the staff so helpful and friendly. My students are a handful but after 3 months they are beginning to response in a positive way towards the classroom rules and procedures. I just wished that my parents were more involved in their child's education and dedicated. Some of my parents are really great, they are involved, they work with me, we have a partnership. We all want the same thing for the children, a quality education. Knowledge is power.

Just read it. I'll let Jim communicate his platform further since he just announced his candidacy before I object or support any of his ideas. Objectively however, Jim sat on a city council that lost control of our schools in the first place and couldn't figure out how to fund the education programs we already have. Again, I don't know what his votes were on those issues without research but he was there since 1991. Like most candidates (career politicians), it sounds good and brings in the votes but then stymies during implementation were it falls on others to figure out. I challenge all of us to ask these candidates (either party) the tough questions and make them explain how there are going to do all these wonderful things with a budget we struggle with every year.
