Firefighter injured responding to call in S. Phila.
The accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. at 24th Street and Snyder Avenue in South Philadelphia, authorities said. The firefighter, who was not named, was transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with unspecified injuries. He was reported in stable condition.

At about 12:20 a.m., 17th District police responded to a report of a stabbing on the 1600 block of South Etting Street, where they found the 40-year-old bleeding and lying on a sidewalk, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detectives said. The victim went to Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in stable condition.
