It is been also happening to me. I find if you go on the Philadelphia Streets Department website they usually tell you they are a day or two behind because of weather issues or any other issue. Last year because of all the snow I didn't get my trash collected for like 3 weeks. It seems the bitter cold is also been playing an issue with trash collections. Lately I also noticed recycles have been collected one day and regular trash a day or two later. On the website. I hope this info has been helpful.

Same here in Castor Gardens. They always call with some excuse as to why the trash won't be collected this week. To take it even a step further, they suggest that if you have your trash collected from the rear of your house, you should move it out front to be collected there. The past three times we were told to do this, the trash was not collected out front either. As a matter of fact, after moving trash out front, the truck came up the back driveway anyway. Regardless if you are elderly or not, lugging heavy trash cans back an forth is a dangerous idea, especially when many sidewalks have not been shoveled/deiced. I've lived here since 1987 and service has really gone downhill in the past year.
