Cops probe 5 slayings by gun, knife and crossbow in Philly

The other fatal shooting happened just after 11:45 p.m. Sunday, when a man was shot inside a home on the 200 block of South Edgewood Street in West Philadelphia.

The most recent of the deadly incidents happened shortly after 1:15 a.m. Monday, when a 36-year-old man was shot several times in his torso on the 2300 block of North Cleveland Street in North Philadelphia.

A suspect was stopped in his vehicle on the 5200 block of Spruce Street a short time later and taken into custody, police said.

In a separate incident Sunday evening, a 50-year-old man died after he was stabbed in his stomach and legs on the 5200 block of Kingsessing Avenue in Kingsessing.

The remains were found in the basement of the home on the 200 block of East Price Street, where the fire was reported shortly after 8:45 p.m.

Pamela Nightlinger, 42, died after she was shot with the crossbow in the home on the 3100 block of Willits Road, according to police.
