Drug Dealing and Shootings are Out of Control!
People, I have been calling Curtis Jones's office, emailing NOAH (Overbrook civic association) and reporting everything I see to the 19th Police district about the drug dealing in the neighborhood. I gave license plate #'s, addresses, descriptions, stash spots, you name it and have not seen a darn thing change. NO CHANGE WHATSOEVER! The media always talking about the black community not stepping up in reporting crimes but I'm on the phone almost everyday filing reports and have not seen...
The media always talking about the black community not stepping up in reporting crimes but I'm on the phone almost everyday filing reports and have not seen a cop, a councilman, a mayor or anybody with authority putting a plan into action to reduce the drug dealing in the neighborhood. The area surrounding 66th Lebanon has had multiple shootings in the past two weeks. The slightest of noises have you ducking for cover now! I don't understand...Overbrook is such a small area compared to other parts of the city, especially the part of Overbrook past 63rd street. There are beautiful houses, landscapes and working class people of all diversities and yet our neighborhood is starting to look like North Philly. Holla if ya hear me! And by the way, please call NOAH, Curtis Jones and 19th District to report drug dealing and also get your neighbors involved because the more people that call the more likely we will get action! Recommendations please?

Have you lost a Buff male Cocker Spaniel?
Hungry & cold, jumpy and could use a bath? very good on a leash and looks to be a bit older? He'd taken up residence on a porch on Morris Park. He is very shy and skittish, but he's got food & water here. Call your neighbor if you think it might be theirs, I am planning to call the shelter later this week, this dog has a small collar, no tags of any kind.

Thank You
My pup was wandering around Upland & Drexel Rd a few feet from my front door, when an unknown person assumed he was lost and took him to Vector on Hunting Park Ave. Then posted his picture all over the neighborhood. It could have been worse. We got him back. Thank you.

FOUND DOG!
Charming small male lhasa-apso type dog wandering the streets near Naomi and Wissahickon, no collar. Found Friday afternoon 3/30/12. He is currently staying with me, but he definitely misses his owner. Is he yours? Come claim him!
There is an older man I have seen at Thomas Mansion walking dogs of similar appearance; wondering if one of his has gotten away. I have no way of knowing how to reach this man to ask him. Do any neighbors know him and can find out if he has lost his dogs? I need help with reuniting dog with owner, neighbors; please step up if you can, to help me! Thanks! Kathy Detwiler

Kathy D wissahickon wanderer, 15-year residentHooray for Mailman John! Thanks to his attention to the details of his route, he knew just where the little lost lhasa apso lives, and dog and his home were reunited early this afternoon! We have repaired the hole in the fence, and we have a happy ending to the tale (tail?) of the lost and found dog. Many thanks to all of you who reached out to help this sweet dog find his owner!

I'm so happy I could cry.... there are so many horrible stories of intentionally abandoned pets that when it truly is an accident, it's SO gratifying to hear that pet and parent are re-united! THANK YOU EveryBlock for the venue to connect with all the caring, engaged and dedicated neighbors of Mt Airy!!! Let us all be committed to making our society one of NO MORE HOMELESS PETS!!!

Rev. Dr. Stephens I was at the church on 65th and landsdowne yesterday helping to raise $ for a youth basketball team. There will be community meetings and I will keep everyone posted on the next one. I was able to network with a woman who ran for state rep and is willing to help as well. I have been trying to get people registered to vote. I am very adamant about reaching the youth and their parents! I live across from a cop whose kids are total terrors they throw rocks at cars kick over people's property and she's never home!!! I think it's lack of parenting! I will keep you posted we are setting up a meeting at the church is there a day r time of the week you think is easier?

Hi Keyshia. I would guess that any evening after 7pm would be appropriate. This way, people have time to get home from work and eat dinner. Also, my wife told me that Saturday morning around 11am, the police arrested a drug dealer who was on foot, at Atwood Road and Jefferson Street intersection, in front of the apartment building. The dealer who drove him into the area, cruised by to see what had happened to his associate, and kept on driving. Apparently he had quite of drugs in his possession and threw them onto the ground, but the police recovered it all. This is a very important first step in putting an end to the dealing in this area. I applaud this officer and I hope this will not be the last arrest in our area!
