Police: Man Crashes, Then Has ATV Taken

The ATV driver, who was not identified, lost control about 8:30 p.m. in the 3800 block of Lancaster Avenue in the Powelton section, police said. He was taken to a nearby hospital with "severe head trauma" and listed in critical condition.

In the second slaying, authorities identified 49-year-old Andre White as the man stabbed to death on the 3600 block of Aspen Street in Mantua about 2 a.m. He was pronounced dead at Penn Presbyterian at 2:37 a.m.

In the first attack, just after 1:30 p.m. at Seventh Street and Hunting Park Avenue, a 43-year-old man was shot multiple times, police said. Police took the man to Temple University Hospital, where he was listed critical condition.

The first happened just after 1:15 a.m. on the 5400 block of Old York Road in Logan, where an unidentified man was shot in an arm, a hip, and the chest. He was taken to Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:04 a.m., police said.

Two dead, four wounded in separate crimes

The first homicide occurred just after 2 a.m. Sunday on the 3600 block of Aspen Street in the Mantua section, police said, when a 49-year-old man was found by police on the street with a stab wound in his chest. The man was taken to Presbyterian Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:37 a.m.

A few minutes after the stabbing, around 2:04 a.m. on the 5400 block of Old York Road in Logan, a 29-year-old man was found by police on the ground outside Einstein Medical Center with three gunshot wounds, including one in the chest, police said. He was pronounced dead from his injuries.

Police Searching for Escaped Prisoner in Philadelphia

Police say that Robinson simply jumped off the bed and started running. They chased him around the nurses’ station and out onto the street, where Robinson fled down Powelton Avenue. Officers lost him on the 3800 block of Warren Street.

Bicyclist Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in University City

Police say a former Drexel University student was riding his bike on 33rd and Powelton streets when he was struck by a red or Burgundy Ford minivan. The driver of the van did not stop and instead continued north towards 35th Street, police said.
