Places to look...for a missing bike

I am curious if you all know of sketchy places that sell "used" bikes that I could go peruse to see if I can find and buy back my son's missing bike. I'm not looking for legit used bike places, just the sketchy ones.

  • Tim H Friend and Resident in Hawthorne

A friend of mine found his in the parking lot at 4th and Washington. A kid was among his friends sitting on it. My friend called him out, demanded it back, and eventually got it. That was a dangerous move though. At 8th and Washington (I think) there are always bikes.

8th and Dickinson also had a fun grouping of bikes and bike parts and everything there was $100, but not my son's bike.

What is Newbold?

I live in the 19146 area code on 23rd street close to Point Breeze Ave. I recently became aware of a sub-neighborhood called Newbold. I want to know why this area found it necessary to re-name itself? I am offended.

  • Can I call my area Northwest Newbold? Or Autozone?

  • the beautiful thing about neighborhood names is you can call it whatever you feel comfortable calling it. if enough people want to call it something, that's what it becomes.

Stolen bike pattern

Yesterday a teachers bike was stolen from outside Independence Charter School at 1600 Lombard Street Philadelphia, PA 19146 and today my son's bike was stolen. I have no idea if the police take this at all seriously. Please be warned that this is a pattern and let me know if you have advice on recovering stolen bicycles. I'm not even beyond buying back the bike if seen. It was a green diamondback cobra boys mountain bike. Thanks.
